Satopnath Lake is one of the difficult trekking spots in Uttarakhand and undoubted the most beautiful trekking routes in the himalayas. Its also called swargarohini trek. A triangular glacial lake it is located at a height of 15, 100 feet in the Garhwal Himalayas and it is believed that the divine Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh had meditated here and each corner of the triangular lake is named after them. The journey will surely give you that perfect adrenaline rush as the trek is a precarious one. The lake is located a few kilometers from Badrinath. It lies beneath the Badrinath peak, Satopnath tal has a number of mythological stories related to it. Nestled amidst the garhwal region of Himalayas, the satopanth swargarohini trek is the paradise for every trekker. So pack your rucksack and start off for Satopnath Lake near Badrinath.

Day 1 – Acclimatization Day and small trek to Charan Paduka
Meet our crew at Badrinath in the morning, and visit temple. We’ll start small trek towards Charan Paduka and after spend some time at that region and return back to Badrinath. After that feel free to enjoy the beatuy of Bardinath. and over night stay in the hotel.
Day 2 – Badrinath to Lakshmi Van ( 10km trek )
We’ll start our Satopanth Lake trek from Badrinath while going left. We continue a small tributary and climb a rocky ridge. We cross a glacial bridge to walk gradually to a flattened place called Chamtoli Bugiyal. Here we spend some time to rest. From here it is another hour to our camping ground called Laxmi Van. Total distance from Badrinath to Lakshmi Van is 10 Km. The opposite side of the camping ground we can see the famous Vasudhara falls. Tent for the night.
Day 3 – Lakshmi Van to Chakrateerath ( 10km trek )
From Lakshmivan we trek across the Sahastra Dhara to reach Chakrateerath. This is a beautiful camping ground with green grass all around and towering peaks surrounding you. Today we’ll trek for about 10Kms.
Day 4 – Chakrateerath to Satopanth Tal ( 3km trek )
Today a short yet strenuous walk over glacial moraine and boulder will take us to the holy lake of Satopanth. The lake remains hidden until we climb a steep ridge and spot the beautiful turquoise green water of the triangular lake. A small shelter is here for the occasional pilgrims. A 3 km glacier walk will bring us to the Satopanth Tal, where we’ll set up our camp for the night. After reach the Satopanth Lake enjoy the beautiful enviroment arround you.
Further up is Swargarohini – the gate of heaven. We pay our respect to the gods at Swargarohini and come back to our campsite at Satopanth lake.
Day 5 – Satopanth lake to Lakshmi Van ( 13km trek )
In the morning take the holy bath in the Lake and the perform the pooja. After the breakfast we start our descent and set up our campsite at Lakshmi van once again. The area is a beautiful meadow full of high altitude flowers and breathtaking views. Overnight stay in the tent.
Day 6 – Lakshmi Van to Badrinath ( 10km trek )
In the morning Having the breakfast and then move towards to Badrinath. In the afternoon we will reach the Badrinath. And here you unforgeable Satopanth tal trek is ends with lots of memories.
