Gangotri is a small town centered around the temple of Gangotri temple and is one of the holy places among the four Char Dhams. It is cuddled in the heart of Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand and is located close to the Indo-Tibetan border. It is the highest and the most important temple of river Ganga which is worshiped as a Goddess in India.

With the snow-clad Himalayas located in the vicinity and the Bhagirathi River flowing in eternity at this heavenly place, one can feel close to God in the blissful aura of Gangotri.

The origin of the holy river is at Gaumukh, set in the Gangotri glacier that can be accessed by 18 km trek from Gangotri. But according to Hindu mythology, Gangotri is the place where river Ganga descended from heaven when Lord Shiva released the mighty river from his luscious locks.

Day 01: Haridwar – Uttarkashi
(175 kms Drive)
Our outdoor crew will meet you at Haridwar in morning. After breakfast start our journey to Uttarkashi via Chamba. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel for overnight stay. In evening visit relagious places of Uttarkashi.

Day 02: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Bhojwassa (100 Kms Drive and 13 km trek)
After breakfast drive to Gangotri via a beautiful valley of Harsil. On arrival, visit the temple for Darshan. After permorming the pooja we commands our Gomukh trek further to Bhojwassa via Chirbasa. From Gangotri we move along the beaten track towards Chirbasa, which is on tree line. The entire trek today is along the roaring Bhagirathi River. Beyond Chirbasa the terrain becomes really desolate and barren. From Chirbasa we trek further to Bhojwassa, the entire trail passes through dense forest, Arrive Bhojwassa. In the evening unwind yourself to explore the area and to enjoy excellent sunset on Bhagirathi group of peaks. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

Day 03: Bhojwassa – Gomukh – Bhojwassa
(5 kms one side trek)
Early in the Morning enjoy the panoramic view of Bhagirathi group of peaks. After breakfast, we start our Gomukh trek, the source of the Ganges. Gomukh is where the water of Ganga trickles down from the glaciers. The sages called it ‘Gomukh’, because in the distant past, it probably appeared like a cow’s mouth. Explore the area and trek back to Bhojwassa. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

Day 04: Bhojwassa – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (13 kms trek and 100 Kms Drive)
In the morning after breakfast trek down to Gangotri and from here drive to Uttarkashi. On arrival check in to hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 05: Uttarkashi – Haridwar(175 kms Drive)
In the morning after an early breakfast, drive to the Haridwar via Dharasu Band and Chamba. In evening our outdoor crew will drop you at Haridwar railway station or bus stand.
